Equipment

  • Steam cooker

Ingredients

  • 250 gms Ivy gourd Chopped
  • 3 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 1 no Green Chilli
  • ½ tbsp Mustard seeds and split black gram
  • 1 stalk curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp oil Cold press
  • A Pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves Finely Chopped
  • 50 ml Water
  • to taste Salt

Instructions

  • cook the gourd with required water in a steam cooker (1 whistle)
  • Heat the oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and black gram
  • Allow it to splutter, followed by the addition of curry leaves and asafoetida
  • Add chopped green chillies and cooked ivy gourd. stir for few minutes
  • add salt
  • Serve, Garnished with coconut and fresh coriander leaves

Notes

Note:
For those who wish for a more added flavour chopped shallots (7-8 nos) and garlic (2 nos) can be fried along with chillies before adding the vegetables.
