cook the gourd with required water in a steam cooker (1 whistle)
Heat the oil in a pan
Add mustard seeds and black gram
Allow it to splutter, followed by the addition of curry leaves and asafoetida
Add chopped green chillies and cooked ivy gourd. stir for few minutes
add salt
Serve, Garnished with coconut and fresh coriander leaves
