Ingredients
- 250 gms Ivy gourd Chopped
- 3 tbsp Grated Coconut
- 1 no Green Chilli
- ½ tbsp Mustard seeds and split black gram
- 1 stalk curry leaves
- 1 tbsp oil Cold press
- A Pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves Finely Chopped
- 50 ml Water
- to taste Salt
Instructions
- cook the gourd with required water in a steam cooker (1 whistle)
- Heat the oil in a pan
- Add mustard seeds and black gram
- Allow it to splutter, followed by the addition of curry leaves and asafoetida
- Add chopped green chillies and cooked ivy gourd. stir for few minutes
- add salt
- Serve, Garnished with coconut and fresh coriander leaves

Note:
For those who wish for a more added flavour chopped shallots (7-8 nos) and garlic (2 nos) can be fried along with chillies before adding the vegetables.
