Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup Wheat flour            
  • As required Salt                        

For Stuffing

  • 10 No Palak leaves           
  • 1 Pinch Cumin Powder
  • 1 Pinch Pepper powder
  • 1 Pinch Asafoetida                 
  • As required Water  

Instructions

  • Grind the ingredients to obtain a puree.
  • Add the puree to the dough
  • Knead the dough by adding sufficient salt and water.
  • Divide the dough into balls of equal size and dip them into some flour.
  • Roll the dough with a rolling pin until the balls resemble thin, round pancakes.
  • Heat a heavy frying pan, tava or griddle over medium heat and cook each chappathi on both sides.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.

Notes

Variation:
The flavour of the dish can be varied by substituting cumin, pepper and Asafoetida with garlic, ginger and green chilli.
