Godhumai rava upma is a staple breakfast at home, filling and nutritious with vegetables added to it. As wheat rava (godhumai rava ) is not refined, it has more nutrition in it comparatively to rava (Semolina).

- 1 Cup Wheat Rava
- 1 Nos Onion Chopped
- 1 Nos Green Chilli Chopped
- 1 Piece (Small) Ginger Finely Chopped
- 2 Stalk Curry leaves
- 50 gms Carrot Finely Chopped
- 50 gms Beans Finely Chopped
- 4 tbsp Gingelly oil Cold Press oil
- 1 Pinch Mustard Seeds
- 2 tbsp Bengal gram
- 2 ½ Cups Water
- 1 tbsp (To Taste) Salt Table salt
Heat the oil in a pan; saute mustard seeds, Bengal gram, onion,green chilli, ginger and curry leaves.
Add finely cut carrot, beans and saute for a few minutes.
Add water, salt and bring it to boil.
Add rava, constantly stirring until cooked & Serve hot.
Note:
Various types of rava like corn rava, semolina (white rava), even Ragi in the form of rava can also be used to cook upma by adopting the same method. Likewise the vegetables can also be substituted with green like parsley celery to obtain a different flavour.
