Ingredients

  • 100 gms Green gram
  • 100 gms Bottle gourd
  • 2 nos Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Cumin powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp Split black gram
  • 1 stalk Curry Leaves
  • 1 Pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 100 ml Water

Instructions

  • cook the split green gram with 100 ml of water, turmeric and a few drops of oil until half done
  • Add Bottle gourd to the above and cook thoroughly
  • Add salt and cumin powder and asafoetida
  • Heat oil in a pan and temper mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves, add to the above
  • Garnish with chopped coriander
  • Serve hot with rice and sambar or rasam
