Broken Wheat Bisi Bela Bath
Making out this delicious,healthy, filling dish which is quite famous in Karnataka,needless to say with broken wheat this BBB is definitely a healthier version to enjoy without any guilt, To give more health benefits to this bisi bele bath i prepared my BBB spice powder with flax seeds and usual spices.

- 2 Cups Broken wheat
- ¼ Kg Tomatoes Fresh
- 2 Nos Onion chopped
- 1 Nos Green chilli Halved
- 50 gms Carrot Chopped
- 50 gms Beans Chopped
- 1 Nos Drumstick Chopped
- 50 gms White pumpkin Chopped
- 100 gms Yellow pumpkin Chopped
- 50 gms Raw Mango Chopped
- 1 Cup Split Green Gram
- 1 Handfull Coriander leaves Fresh
- 2 Stalk Curry Leaves Fresh
- ½ tbsp Mustard seeds
- 3 tbsp Gingelly oil Use cold press oil
- 1 Pinch Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Jaggery
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 3 Cups Water
Ingredients to be Ground (Fry all items in few drops of oil and grind well)
- 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1 Nos Red chilli
- 1 tbsp Bengal gram
- ½ tbsp Fenugreek
- 2 Pinch Asafoetida Powder
- 5 Nos Shallots
- 2 tbsp Coconut Grated
Cut all the vegetables (in approx 2”pieces).
Heat the oil in a steam cooker.
Add mustard seeds, curry leaves,onion, green chilli, tomato and Saute well, followed by the cut vegetables.
Add the ground ingredients and Saute for a minute.
Boil water in a vessel and add it to the vegetables followed by broken wheat, split green gram, turmeric and salt.
Steam cook for 3 whistles.
Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of jaggery and coriander leaves.Mix well and serve.
