Bottle Gourd Soup
This easy bottle gourd soup is a great way of including (lauki) in meals, either as a side or the whole meal itself. Especially during winters, a soup dinner night is very comforting. Eating lauki keeps you full for a long time, helps control appetite and thus results in weight loss.

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Horse Gram Fine cleaned
- 150 gms Bottle Gourd Chopped
- 100 gms Tomato Chopped
- 1 bsp Gingelly oil Cold Press oil
- 1 Pinch Pepper Powder
- 1 Pinch Asafoetid
- ½ tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves Chopped
- 1 Stalk Curry leaves Fresh
- 1 tbsp (As Required) Salt Table salt
- 1 Cup (As Required) Water
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Fresh
Instructions
- Wash bottle gourd thoroughly.
- Pressure- Cook horse gram, bottle gourd and tomato together-(6 Whistles)
- Remove from stove and cool.
- Add a little water and grind in a mixer until mashed well.
- Sieve the ingredients and discard lumps.
- Bring the mixture to boil, on simmer mode.
- Add cumin,pepper powder and salt.
- Temper curry leaves, Asafoetida and add to the mixture.
- Add lemon juice, Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
