Snake gourd soup
This recipe of snake gourd soup involves minimal level of preparation and cooking time. It is super juicy and delicious for the times when you need the warmth and energy from food! The soup is ideally combined with Indian flat bread Roti or can also be taken along with steamed rice. With the ease of preparation and multitude of health benefits it provides, the snake gourd soup should be added to meals on a weekly basis!

Ingredients
- ¼ Kg Snake gourd Chopped
- 100 gms Tomato Chopped
- 2 tbsp Split green gram
- 1 Pinch Cumin seeds
- 1 Pinch Asafoetida
- 1 Stalk Curry leaves
- 1 Pinch Pepper
- 1 tbsp (As required) Salt
- 1 ½ Cup water
Instructions
- Wash snake gourd, green gram, tomatoes and pressure cook until soft (Around 3 Whistles)
- Remove from stove and cool.
- Add a little water and grind in a mixer until well mashed.
- Sieve the ingredients and discard lumps.
- Bring the mixture to boil, on simmer.
- Add Salt.
- Temper cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida (Pepper if needed) and add to the mixture.

Snake gourd can be consumed as juice in case of constipation and piles. It acts as a mild laxative.
